Can affected communities (e.g. island states) seek legal remedy against those responsible for climate change, such as through class action?

Protecting People from Severe Weather: The Group on Earth Observations (GEO) presents a new US-funded mechanism for protection against climate change, flash floods, and other forms of severe impact in Central America and eventually elsewhere.

Departure to Songhai Centre in Benin.
Established by a Dominican priest in 1985, the Songhai Centre is a research institute for training, research, and production for ecological and sustainable livelihood. Its objective is to improve the lives of Africans, most of whom live in rural areas. The Centre is an NGO based in Benin that currently trains about 700 students each year in organic agriculture, agricultural equipment manufacture, food processing, aquaculture, and marketing. It is self-financed by its production sold in the local market.
